Samatex Denied Victory As Raja Athletic Grabs Vital Point

Ghana Premier League defending champions Samatex 1996 secured a point in their CAF Champions League second preliminary round game against Moroccan giants Raja Athletic.

It was the visitors that struck first through Azrida Mohammed with a strong header at the near post from a corner kick in the 20 minute.

Francis Gyentua grabbed the equalizer for Samatex in the 36th minute following a poor goalkeeping from the Raja goalkeeper.

The home team shortly took the lead on the 43rd minute courtesy Michael Ephson who tapped home from a rebound at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Mohammed Boulacsout stunned the home fans with an equalizer for Raja Club Athletic after a more solid display in the second half.

The Ghanaian side will travel to Morocco in a week for the second leg in what will be a decider.
